The Cottage

Welcome to your vacation home away from home  in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The Carriage House Cottage at  Westard Farm borders conservation land protected by Acadia. This cozy,  clean, affordable getaway retreat offers rustic, post and beam  accommodations with the latest comforts and conveniences including free  wifi and good cell signal. Centrally located on land that was once a  farm. Enjoy superior privacy in a quiet rural setting with a great view  of the sun setting behind distant Blue Hill mountain. Only minutes to  downtown and the park. Save on gasoline! Free Acadia shuttle stops at  the end of the drive.

Step inside and admire the rugged cedar  and hemlock beams that reach high to the pine board ceiling in the  living area. Large windows and a full-size patio door look out over  ancient apple trees and a small field were white-tailed deer come to  fatten up in the fall. Whip o' wills and woodcock can be heard at dusk  and frequently the call of coyotes reaches up from the nearby valley.  Our "Tribal Council" area, for exclusive use of cottage guests, sports an Adirondak Leanto,  fire pit with wood, and picnic table along our 400-foot nature trail.

Carriage House Cottage guests are encouraged to spend an afternoon or evening around a cozy campfire at our Tribal Council Area. Many of our guests are former campers who have decided to upgrade to more comfortable accommodations while wanting to avoid the expensive and crowded hotels in town.
